We were attending our sons & future daughter inlaws wedding at Rivers Edge Resort in Elma.MB. And by staying at the Moon Gate it was so close that made it so convenient for rehearsal and the wedding. We had such a wonderful stay.This guest house is so unique the way it is laid out. It's perfect for family members if you too will be attending a wedding at Rivers Edge. .I am handicap and use a smaller mobility scooter within my home, and the accessibility to the Guest house as well as the one bathroom worked well for me. Planning on returning with our whole family for another weekend visit sometime, hoping to get the full use of the guest house, with using the sauna and getting to indulge in their pizza nights that they do onsite for a $, on Friday and Sat nights.And to just enjoy the whole area without having to leave for specific times for a wedding.They are also open in the winter, with winter activities to do
Love this place! Jennie makes the difference with an amazing level of responsiveness over small requests for help and well, is just a really nice person. Spent two days here to relax and unwind outside of life's routine. Amazing amount of things you can do in a leisurely way. Reiki was excellent and so was plant walk. Jennie's knowledge is amazing. Enjoyed the sauna and just sitting and listening to nature while watching the river flow by. The property has a winding path mowed through the prairie wildflower/ grasses. Be aware you are sharing common areas with other guests but the couple we shared the facilities with were lovely company and added to the experience. Only an hour from Winnipeg ... a great get away for two or maybe just rent the whole place and fill it with friends and family. Oh and i would be remiss if I did not say Pedro is excellent company:)
I have been to Moongate 3 times so far this year. Twice with Daytripper by Rainbow Earth~Creations and once to a Saturday pizza night. Although I have not stayed overnight, I hope to sometime sooner than later! The rooms are all gorgeous and look very comfortable. The Roundhouse looks absolutely amazing! Michel has such beautiful craftsmanship and has lovingly built many items with reclaimed wood and other products. Jenny and Michel are so very friendly and welcoming. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful! The food is amazing! Locally sourced and organic items are available to eat on site or buy to take home. Such a relaxing and beautiful place. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful getaway . I will definitely be back and have already highly recommended your business to friends and family looking for a peaceful getaway.
The roundhouse is everything you could want. Jenny and Michel accommodated our last minute booking on a rainy June day; it was such a cozy stay with the huge windows to drink the outdoors in with the river just steps away while we relaxed in warmth of the space. Michel is incredibly resourceful and he and Jenny have done a beautiful job crafting the space. Warm, cozy, beautiful, and wrapped in natures embrace, we would happily return and stay again!
I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to take time to really connect with and relax. The space is beautiful and healing being there rejuvinated my husband and I. Jenny and Michelle are kind and joyfilled people who are gifted. We came in later and did self check in and had never been there before and the lights were left on with clear instructions. This time around we did not get a chance to use the sauna and will next time as we will definalty be going back!

Hosted a Womens retreat at the Moon Gate Guest House recently and we were received and cared for beautifully. So many little extras that the owners included! The rooms and decor and flexibility for us to use the space for movement and set up our own tools for retreat was all so smooth and without any stress at all! The location on rivers edge was perfect and tho there are other farms somewhat nearby, we still felt very much ‘away from everything’. Whether a small group or over a dozen as we were, this space is perfectly suited for a proper ‘gathering get away’.
Exactly what I (we) needed! Immediate feeling of being embraced with comfort & genuine love. Clean, calm, & beautiful thoughtful details. I don’t want to ruin the small surprises that are made with love from the heart, so I will not elaborate. Even the compost toilet smelled like cedar! Outdoor shower a complete delight even on a cool grey day in the rain.
